Meghann Blankenship, MD
Dr. Blankenship was raised in Birmingham, Alabama; she attended Auburn University and completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She received her medical degree from University of South Alabama College of Medicine in 2010 and in 2013 completed her residency in internal medicine at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, North Carolina. After two years of practicing in a traditional medical office in Cairo, GA, she returned to North Carolina and currently practices in Concord, NC.
While primary care has been her main emphasis since completing residency, in 2017 she shifted her focus toward nutrition and lifestyle medicine. She has since researched and developed a different style of practice that incorporates more involvement from the patient and less reliance on pharmacologic interventions. She became board certified in obesity medicine in 2019. Since making the change in her practice style, patients have been able to lose weight and reverse their chronic diseases such as diabetes and hypertension.
Dr. Blankenship is an active member in both the American College of Physicians and the Obesity Medical Association. Her passion has grown from a small interest in nutrition into a strong desire to improve the health and longevity of all patients through their own nutrition and lifestyle changes. She is eager to use her knowledge to teach patients how their bodies were created to use real food and heal through natural processes such as fasting.
In her free time, she can be found running with Sarah, chasing her littles around the house, and cheering on her Auburn Tigers during football season.
